About
Lodestone Sound is Ian Williams, a multidisciplinary sound artist living, working & learning on the unceded coast salish territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) and S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō) First Nations. Ian’s love of sound began with the open spaces of the eastern slopes of the rockies, a love which soon found a home in the shifting harmonies of jazz piano. Ian has worked on all levels of post-production audio, including foley, dialogue editing, sound design, and full mixes. His work has also found its way beyond post-production, including a sound installation at Bass Coast Music Festival, a featured song on Sherpa Cinema’s “Children of the Columbia”, and improvised live bass music shows from Dawson to Nelson. Ian is also an avid canoeist and location sound recordist, and can often be spotted taking field recordings from the unique sonic landscapes all across the pacific northwest.
